Arturo Comegna was born in the small town of Casoli in the Abruzzo region of Italy, Arturo has always had a strong passion for fine Italian cuisine. From a young age he began perfecting his delicious recipes and started his culinary career at the age of 12.
Art moved to Sault Ste. Marie where he followed his passion for food by acquiring Rico’s restaurant on Spring St. Later Arturo opened the highly successful Arturo Ristoranté on Queen Street. Building on the success of Arturo’s which is now owned by his sons Chris & Thomas he opened Antico Ristoranté in 2012.
Antico is not only a testament to Arturo’s incredible food skills, but also his artistic skills; the restaurant walls are used to display his beautiful paintings that he created over the years.
More then a few celebrities have joined Art in the kitchen over the years.
Great Big Sea, Rankin Family, Maria Bello and Christopher Plummer just to name a few.
